Comedian Eric Omondi is still protesting the appointment of Ezekiel Mutua as CEO of the Music Copyright Society of Kenya.
Speaking to YouTube Content creators, he criticized the appointment saying that Kenya is doing so little in terms of making improvements in public offices since Mutua was removed from his CEO position at the Kenya Film Classification Board because of the issues he had.
“Kenya is like a rural wedding. You go forward two steps and go back ten steps. Ezekiel had a lot of issues that were bordering corruption, some were bordering abuse of power that were proven and we removed him from office. He went and now he is back,” Omondi said.
The comedian however said that he has been given another chance by the government which he should use to clean himself.
“MCSK is one of the biggest thiefing organizations in Kenya. They sent the likes of Khaligraph 2000. So it is a scam, it is corrupt. I just want to tell him that he has been given another chance by the government. If I were Ezekiel I would take the first 100 days to absorb myself, clean myself and make sure that money is sent to artists, he should surprise us,” Omondi advised.
He said that he is not happy with Mutua’s appointment for obvious reasons but advised him to use the first days in office to prove him wrong or else his title as MCSK CEO will not last long. He went ahead to mention those who are qualified for the position.
“Otherwise wembe ni ule ule, Ezekiel will not stay there for more than 30 days. I am giving him 30 days to prove his worthiness to it after that you know I will remove him. I will ensure the position is taken by Wyre, Reuben Kagame.
“We should look for pioneers like Wyre, Nonini, Nameless, Nameless understands music. He should have been given that position and be deputized by Jemimah Thiong’o,” Omondi said.
He also claimed that Mutua has no CV and was removed from office for stealing funds.
