Equity Bank faced service disruption in Ruiru Branch following a robbery incident.
In a statement, Equity allayed fears that the robbery happened inside the bank.
However, the financial institution explained that the suspect decided to take shield at the branch prompting the mob to flock the bank.
However, Equity assured it’s customers that service normalcy had been restored at the bank.
“Kindly note that we had a brief disruption today at our Ruiru Branch occasioned by a suspected robber in Ruiru town, who attempted to take shield at the branch, ” Equity’s statement dated Friday November 17 read in part.
“This resulted in the crowd that was chasing the suspect converge outside the branch, ” it added.
The suspect was cornered by the crowd as he attempted to rob a mobile money agent.
He was allegedly armed but the crowd managed to neutralize him.
The suspect was later arrested and transferred to a police station awaiting arraignment.
