Drama as Police Recover Ksh6 Million Bhang Stashed in Ongata Rongai Church

Drama was witnessed on Monday, October 30 in Ongata Rongai Town after police officers recovered bhang worth street value of Ksh6 million stashed in sacks at a local church.

The police reportedly acted on a tip-off from the members of the public before they apprehended two believers suspected to have stashed the bhang.

Addressing a section of the press, Kajiado North sub-county police commander, Abduba Hussein stated the marijuana was recovered alongside one carcass of a goat that two suspects had slaughtered.

It is not clear if the church leadership was aware of the illegal trade at their premise.

“The two had slaughtered a goat belonging to one Jessie Muthiga Albert of The exhibits were found stored in the said local church,” stated the police commander.

He said the two suspects were rescued from the angry members of the public who had subjected them to mob injustice.

“The two were rushed to Saitoti Hospital in Ongata Rongai, where they were admitted in serious condition,” the local police boss added.

Following the discovery of the bhang, police launched investigations to bring to book other suspects allegedly taking part in the outlawed trade.
