It has been revealed that the Deputy President, William Ruto held a tactical meeting with some leaders from the Meru community at his Karen home, Nairobi before Senator Kithure Kindiki ouster as Senate deputy speaker.
The DP is believed to have directed a group of Meru MPs to make a tactical retreat. From our sources, we established that DP, Ruto beseeched the leader to avoid any fight that may turn out to be destructive.
The meeting was conveyed upon request by Ruto’s close friend, Senator Mithika Linturi. The meeting was organized on short notice to find out the atmosphere on the impending removal of the Prof. Kithure Kindiki.
The meeting was attended by nine out of twelve Meru MPs. Standard reported that Linturi assured the DP of the Ameru support and them as leaders would publicly declare their support for his 2022 presidential ambitions once Prof.Kindiki has been impeached.
The DP advised the legislatures to allow the President to make changes since he was the head of state. However, Senator Mithika Linturi told Ruto that he would express his opposition in the House, something which he actually did.

Senate Deputy Speaker Kithure Kindiki was ousted last Friday after a heated debate. Out of the 67 senators, 54 voted for his removal after they accused him of being disloyal to disrespected the Jubilee partly leader who is the President.
Out of the number that voted for his ouster, at least 26 senators came from the minority side. Only two senators, Moses Wetangula and Nominated Judith Pareno did not vote since they were absent from the House.
