Nominated MP David Ole Sankok is currently trending following the death of his 15-year old son Memusi Sankok.
Memusi killed himself on Monday using his father’s gun after a disagreement over his academics. He was a form three student at Kericho High School.
The 15-year old took his life just a day before his father was to accompany him to school, after failing to report back a week ago.
Sankok has received a fair share of heartfelt condolences as well as criticism especially because of his past actions and the careless manner in which he conducts his politics, with some netizens insinuating he had a hand in his son’s death.
“Two videos which consistently show that David Ole Sankok can do anything to children,” blogger Robert Alai said.

He was also criticized for talking ill of Raila Odinga when he lost his firstborn son Fidel. Sankok said that Raila sacrificed his son so that he could win elections. Raila however put that aside and send him a heartfelt condolence.
Last month however, Sankok led a mock burial ceremony for the Building Bridges Initiative(BBI) which was allegedly held in Bahati, Nakuru County.
The mock ceremony took place after the Supreme Court gave its final verdict on BBI terming it unconstitutional hence declaring it null and void.
A lot of people were present for the event, mostly DP William Ruto’s allies, including Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, who were against the initiative that sought to amend the constitution.
“The death of BBI or Big Brother initiative, he has left two boys, Omollo Otiende and Orengo and one girl who is called Millie Odhiambo and two others Janet(Junet) Mohamed,” Sankok said during the ceremony where they buried the BBI book in a shallow grave, as they sang mourning songs.
Sankok however said that they were celebrating the end of on BBI and asked those who had gathered for the funeral not to cry.
A number of Kenyans however feel that with that Sankok invited a tragedy to his home unknowingly and the result is the death of his son. Some suggested that he should cleanse himself before more trouble follows him
“He recently asked for a funeral, Nature heard him clearly,” Economist Barasa said ion Twitter.
