Dicing With Death: TV Anchor Purity Museo Recounts How She Repeatedly Risked Her Life Crossing River Enziu

Date:

KBC news anchor Purity Museo who hails from Mwingi, Kitui county has come out to narrate her ordeal with the deadly River Enziu where people drown every rainy season.

River Enziu is making headlines across the country following Saturday December 4th accident where a bus was swept by flooding waters while attempting to cross.

More than 33 people who were in the bus drowned during the tragic incident, it was carrying 17 extra passengers and had a total of 68 people who were mostly related.

Following the accident, Purity Museo took to social media to narrate her experience dicing with death crossing River Enziu and other dangerous streams in Kitui.

“I come from Mwingi to be specific Tseikuru. River Enziu is just one among the many rivers used as roads(no bridges) . When it rains, you are forced to cut short your journey until flood waters subside. I remember while in primary school we couldn’t go to school when it rained. There was a river between our home and the school (Musavani river) without a bridge. Just a humble call to our leaders; please make things right. Road infrastructure is a disaster in Mwingi area. Rip to the souls that perished in Enziu,” Purity Museo tweeted.

Museo’s tweet came after activist Boniface Mwangi ruthlessly roasted former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka for doing little to help his people in Mwingi.
