Today morning, Fred Matiang’i and Nyandarua governor Francis Kimemia had a closed-door meeting that revealed a lot about the plans president Uhuru Kenyatta has for the county.
Mr. Kimemia spoke to the media afterwards and explained what had transpired in the meeting. “We discussed a lot of development projects kickstarted by the President in the county with the team.
“We went through a list item by item including a potato processing plant to be launched in July 2020, a seed multiplication plant, a 425km tarmac road project, dams, the upgrading of the JM Kariuki Memorial Hospital and the conversion of the Nyandarua Institute of Science and Technology to a national polytechnic,” the governor disclosed.

The good news for the Nyandarua people didn’t stop there as he revealed the Engineer Level Four Hospital would also be upgraded. He added that a team had been put together by Uhuru which comprised of Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, Water CS Sicily Kariuki and the Inspector General (IG) of Police Hilary Mutyambai.
CS Matiang’i wasn’t as forthcoming as Kimemia only stating that he had also opted to bring along IG Mutyambai to tackle the rising cases of crime in the county.
“I assure the people of Nyandarua that we will not leave this place without a solution to the rising insecurity cases here.
“We are on a working mission in Nyandarua today. I am very concerned about the rising cases of cattle rustling and murders in the area and we will not live without settling this madness once and for all,” he asserted.
