Deputy Governor Faces Two-Month Jail Term

Nyandarua deputy governor is among three county government officials who have been found guilty of contempt of court.

Deputy Governor Zachary Njeru alongside Majority Leader Edinald King’ori and acting county assembly clerk Elizabeth were found guilty of violating court orders that allowed the County Assembly Speaker Ndegwa Wahome to access his office, give him back his official car and the assembly mace.

The three individuals were each fined Ksh.400,000 and failure to pay the amount they be subjected to two months in jail.

Nyandarua County Commissioner Benson Leparmorijo and County Commander Zachary Kimani also found themselves included in the case. The two were given 48 hours to ensure the Assembly Speaker have access to the assembly, his car is given back to him, and the mace be taken back to the assembly.

Speaker Wahome was impeached by a county assembly but was reinstated after challenging the impeachment at the High Court.
