Danstan Omari Says Ruto Is Better Than Kibaki But He Might Not Survive To 2027

Date:

Lawyer Danstan Omari has said that President William Ruto is better compared to his predecessors, Uhuru Kenyatta, Mwai Kibaki and even Daniel Arap Moi.

According to Omari, this is because Ruto has been able to reach targets of revenue collection that the former heads of state never did.

“If indeed the president wants to compare himself to the late Kibaki, I’ll tell everybody for free that the President (William Ruto) is far much better than Kibaki. Shem Ochuodho, Raila Odinga were in that government. Kibaki never raised revenue to the level of President William Ruto is raising.

“The sectors that he has gone to look for funds is totally very virgin. Every sector the president is raising revenue and therefore we expect that he has more money than Kibaki, Uhuru and Moi had,” the lawyer said during the breakfast show at K24.

Omari however said that the only issue that Ruto has is how to spend the revenue collected.

“Kibaki raised revenue and completely sealed leakages for that money. No coin could be stolen under the watch of Kibaki. No coin is not being stolen under the watch of president William Ruto that is the contradiction, that we are being overtaxed  but that money has a hole it is going. If the president now today listens from us here and arrested the thieves, because the thieves have become more than the money that is collected, that is the reason why the cost of living will never be addressed,” he said.

He also faulted Ruto’s for rewarding his political loyalists, a move that he says can’t solve economical problems.

“The problem is presidnet Ruto rewarded  loyalty and that can not manage the economy. If President Ruto still clings to that bunch of clueless  technocrats, he will not even survive to reach 2027,” Omari said
