As the family of Daniel Musyoka is struggling to come to terms with his untimely death, an autopsy conducted on his body has failed to establish the exact cause of his death.
According to a report by the Nation, the autopsy was conducted by five pathologists, who included those who represented the family and human rights bodies, at the Loitokitok sub-county hospital.
The exercise was conducted on Wednesday at it took four hours for the pathologists to come to that conclusion noting that the murder was carried out in a very professional manner.
“We can not ascertain the cause of death. No physical injuries point to the cause of death. We have collected samples from the body for further forensic analysis in a government laboratory,” Government pathologist Dr. Dorothy Njeru said.
Most of Musyoka’s internal body parts were intact. More samples from the body were collected for further forensic analysis at the government laboratory.
The body has since been moved to a morgue in Machakos and he is set to be buried in Mwala sub-county.
Musyoka, who was the Returning Officer of Embakasi East, is believed to have been murdered over matters relating to the general elections.
He went missing on August 11, just when he was supposed to announce winners of the MP and MCA seats.
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and his opponent Francis Mureithi have since been accusing each other of the murder.
“This unworthy opponent of mine who looks like a warthog should stop taking advantage of Mr.Musyoka’s unfortunate and untimely death to advance his political agenda. Let the DCI do their work and respect the family of the deceased to mourn in peace,” Owino said in a Facebook post.
