Albert Wanyonyi a bodaboda rider in Bungoma seduced an American missionary who is 7 years older than him and she fell for his romantic advances despite major language barrier.
Wanyonyi is a school dropout who could only speak Swahili and Bukusu at the time he was hitting on Carey Joy who could only converse in English.
Joy met her sweetheart Wanyonyi in 2017 when she came to Kenya for missionary works in Bungoma county.
The American missionary sold everything back home in US and traveled to Kenya to spread the gospel of the Lord.
She started a church called in God’s Heart Ministries in Bumula constituency where she met Wanyonyi whom he interacted with a lot as he became her bodaboda operator of choice while moving around.
Wanyonyi and Joy developed feelings for each other in the course of their regular interactions but they couldn’t express themselves to each other because of language barrier.
The Kenyan bodaboda operator driven by intense love for the American missionary taught himself a few English words for romance and he approached Joy to confess his undying love for her.
Joy was surprised by Wanyonyi’s determination to win her heart and she ultimately gave in to his romantic advances.
Joy’s parents were not sure whether their marriage will work when she informed them that she had found a Bukusu darling.
28-year-old Wanyonyi and 35-year-old Joy have been living happily together for the past four years since they got married.
The couple is blessed with two adorable children – Noel and Blaze Wanyonyi who live with them at their home in Nyangali village in Bumula.
Joy is an economics graduate and property manager while her husband is still a bodaboda rider, he has other motorbikes which he has leased to increase revenue.
Wanyonyi and Joy’s story is reminiscent of 2014 Bukusu darling part one where Timothy Khamala won the heart of Indian lady Sarika Patel.
