Embakasi East member of parliament Babu Owino on Tuesday made an appearance at the Catholic University to debate deputy president William Ruto.
However, the Embakasi east member of parliament could not be allowed by the hawk eyed security who not only turned him away but also refused to give him an audience.
Babu Owino while giving a speech on being locked out expressed his disappointment at the security agencies as he questioned why he could not be allowed to get inside the catholic University of east Africa.
According to Babu Owino, he had decided to abide by the previous call by the Azimio fraternity to go and debate Ruto on behalf of Raila.
The Embakasi East legislator went ahead to take a swipe at the deputy president as he accused him of mismanaging the economy by engaging in corruption scandals such as the Arror and the Kimwarer dams.
“Fellow Kenyans, I am Babu Owino member of parliament for Embakasi East. As you can see i am at the Catholic University and as you can see I have been denied entry by the policemen namely the deputy OCPD and his crew and they are claiming that I cannot enter here.” Said the MP.
“I came here today to represent Baba Raila Amollo Odinga. I was nominated by the Azimio secretariat to represent Raila in this debate by the Azimio secretariat to represent the interests of Kenyans. I want to tell Kenyans categorically that the questions that need to be asked are what happened to Musando? What happened to the ICC witnesses? Number three, what happened to the Arror and Kimwarer money?” Continued Owino at the Catholic University gate.
Through a statement, the Azimio team through their spokesman makau Mutua made it clear that their presidential candidate would not attend the debate since they were not willing to share a platform with Ruto whom they described as a lier with no basic ethics.
