Controversial and dramatic Comedian Eric Omondi has revealed that he is an evangelist of the word of God.
This is after he attended a gospel show that was organized over the weekend by DJ Mos, thus raising questions whether he listens to gospel music.
He however said that he was among those who developed the gospel industry in the country by organizing several gospel events while he was still a student at Daystar university.
“We were the one who started gospel music. In 2005, I was the chairman of Daystar Christian fellowship and those days I would invite gospel artists, there was gospel fathers, Joksy, Daddy Owen..Dunco..I used to do events call tupa mbao people would pay 20 bob and I would invite all these gospel artists,” he said in an interview with SPM Buzz.
Apparently, the proceeds raised from the events would be used for feeding people who had no food.
Eric, who was not joking at all, said that God gave him three gifts namely football, comedy and evangelism
“What people don’t know is that Eric Omondi is a man of God and I am saying this without any jokes or fear. I am an evangelist, I am a preacher of the gospel. In high school I liked football so much, towards college I entered the ministry, I preached in my church in Kisumu, Kakamega, I went to Daystar, I met Churchill and comedy took over.
He however says that he will go back to evangelism when the right time comes.
“I will go back to it, that’s a contract I have with God, that I will go and minister. I am waiting for God’s time, I already have the calling, right now I am in comedy, entertainment.
Eric’s life in his day to day activity however does not reflect his past life of being an evangelist.
Apart from him, controversial ex radio presenter Andrew Kibe was also a pastor before he backslid.
