Amount Of Money Eliud Kipchoge Will Get After His 5th Berlin Marathon Win

Date:

Kenya once again took the international spotlight by storm on Sunday when Eliud Kipchoge secured his historic fifth victory at the Berlin Marathon. The triumph not only adds another chapter to his legendary career but also ensures a substantial monetary reward for the esteemed athlete.

While the exact figures can vary, recent reports shed light on the prize money awarded to top athletes for their exceptional achievements in the race. Kipchoge’s substantial earnings from this remarkable win will not only include the prize money but also a share of sponsorship deals and participation fees.

For both the men’s and women’s categories, the winners of the Berlin Marathon are set to pocket an impressive $50,000, which translates to approximately Sh7.3 million in Kenyan currency. It’s worth noting that this amount can increase significantly if a world record is shattered during the race, which Kipchoge has accomplished in the past.

In the case of Eliud Kipchoge’s fifth Berlin Marathon victory, he will be taking home a handsome sum of Sh7.3 million as the first-place finisher. However, his earnings extend beyond this prize money, thanks to his numerous lucrative sponsorship deals and participation fees that come with being one of the world’s greatest marathoners.

Athletes who secured the second position in the race, like Kenyan Vincent Kipkemboi, will still enjoy a substantial financial reward, receiving $25,500, equivalent to around Sh3.7 million. Meanwhile, those who clinched third place will not be left empty-handed, as they are set to receive $12,500, roughly Sh1.8 million.

Even the athletes who finished in the fourth and fifth positions at the Berlin Marathon will find themselves financially rewarded for their impressive performances. Fourth-place finishers will each receive $7,500, equivalent to approximately Sh1.1 million, while fifth-place finishers will pocket $5,000, roughly Sh726,000.

Athletes who secured positions from sixth to tenth in the race will also be recognized for their efforts, receiving a respectable sum of $3,000, which translates to roughly Sh435,630.

Eliud Kipchoge’s latest victory in Berlin solidifies his status as one of the greatest marathoners of all time. With a remarkable finish time of 2:02:42, he once again displayed his extraordinary talent and dedication to the sport. The fact that he continues to dominate on the world stage is a testament to his unmatched prowess and unwavering commitment to his career as a sportsman.
