The Public Service Commission has been under fire since it unveiled a list of members that had been shortlisted for theĀ Principal Secretary positions.
PSC added another 108 individuals to the list bringing the number of people who will be interviewed for the jobs to 585.
Some of those added in the new list include IEBC commissioner Boya Molu, former nominated MP David Sankok andĀ former Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo who was to be Mike Sonko’s running mate in the August 9 general elections.
PSC said that it revised the list so as to ensure there is inclusivity of marginalized communities, minority communities and gender balance.
Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi has however shared details of what it took for the list to be revised.
According to him, the individuals paid over half a million to get the interview slots.
“By adding an additional 108 candidates into the shortlist for offices of Principal Secretaries, the Public Service Commission sadly confirmed the truth that it took Kshs 500k to 1m to be shortlisted. Sadly…Corruption galore in PSC!” he said on social media.
The shortlisted individuals will be interviewed for the jobs from October 12- October 2022. A list of those who qualify for the jobs will then be provided to President William Ruto, who will appoint 50 people for the job.
Currently, slots for Principal secretaries are only 44. President Ruto however increased the number.
