For the past two days spotlight has been on Mlango Kubwa MCA Patricia Mutheu who asked Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai to send home the four officers who flogged her yesterday at City Hall.
MCA Mutheu who was assaulted by the officers yesterday has been trending for the better part of yesterday and today as the photos of the incident go viral on the internet.
In her letter to the police boss, Mutheu said she was assaulted by police without provocation and caused grievous harm to her.
Through her lawyer, Cliff Ombeta the curvaceous MCA further asked the IG to accept liability for what the officers did to her.
Lawyer Ombeta said police brutality has been trending of late even after the police boss promised to stop such behavior.
“It is with such in mind that we demand from you as the Inspector General of national police service to accept liability and appearance that you are not able to control such rogue officers under your watch and command,” lawyer Ombeta said.
Mutheu’s lawyer wants the police officers who assaulted her removed from police service with immediate effect, arrested and charged with assault.
“We cannot accept a police force that keeps on relying on brutality when dealing with citizens of this country,” the lawyer added.
