Kiambu KANU Officials Want Senator Gideon To Go Presidency in 2022

Date:

Kiambu KANU officials have thrown their support behind Senator Gideon Moi’s 2022 presidential bid, saying he should succeed the President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The officials said KANU will popularise Gideon Moi as their presidential candidate in the next general elections at the grassroots level, starting from the Mount Kenya region.

Speaking to the media at the Kiambu KANU office, the group led by newly appointed county party chairman George Wainaina said they welcomed the move by the president to chose Gideon – KANU Chairman, to represent the Country at the inauguration of the newly-elected Malawi President, Lazarus Chakwera.

According to Mr. Wainaina, the move by the President was a big honor not only to the Senator but the entire KANU fraternity.

Wainaina added that they would start a digital membership recruitment drive at the end of the week.

The officials also warned other politicians against throwing insults to President Uhuru Kenyatta and KANU’s youth will deal with those disrespecting the head of state.

“We fully support President Uhuru Kenyatta and the BBI agenda. We want to popularise our party but not interfere with the current administration. Kanu is the only party we have in Kenya; the rest are movements used by their leaders for elections”, Wainaina said.
