Spanish Player Gives St Anthony High School Student Gift Worth Ksh100,000

Former Leeds United striker Rodrigo Moreno gave St Anthony Boys High School Kitale student Joseph Omuse a gift worth Ksh100,000.

Rodrigo who played for Valencia before moving to Leeds, gifted Omuse a pair of boots for his phenomenal performance in Term Two matches in Kakamega County.

Omuse’s performance helped St Anthony become national champions in the school games competition. He was the skipper of the side throughout the tournament.

From a simple post on Facebook, Form Three student Omuse was unaware that he was about to receive a pair of boots signed by Spanish player Rodrigo, who currently plays for Al-Rayyan in Qatar.

He was among different players nominated from all over the globe competing for Rodrigo’s signed boots worth Ksh100,000.

His Phenomenal Performance

Omuse was the heart of the midfield of St Anthony which thrashed Dagoreti High School 2-0 in the final played at Bukhungu Stadium.

Solidarity Boys won four out of five to claim their sixth national title.

However, his rise to the national arena was not all flowery. Omuse was picked from the streets and given a second chance by a preacher based in Bungoma Town.

The pastor helped him get back to school and also supported his football talent.
