Raila Odinga introduces his youth resistance ‘army’ in military uniform

Date:

Raila Odinga, has introduced the “movement for defense of democracy,” a youth resistance force.

President William Ruto, according to Mr. Odinga, won the August 9 presidential election by “hijacking and subverting” the will of the people, not by winning the election. He did not offer any evidence to support this assertion, though.

The Supreme Court also dismissed a challenge filed by Azimio la Umoja, a candidate for the One Kenya Coalition, who claimed that Dr. Ruto’s election as president by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission was invalid.

The head of the ODM party accused President Ruto and Kenya Kwanza of running the country with complete disregard for the citizens and its institutions while speaking at a rally on Sunday in Kibera.

Despite having done a fantastic job of recognizing the issues with hustlers and promising a poor man’s government, he claimed that President Ruto’s administration was driving more Kenyans into poverty.

In light of the rising cost of living, Mr. Odinga cited the tax rise as a strategy that will push more Kenyans into bigger problems.

On Sunday, President Ruto declared that his administration would continue to campaign for the taxation of every Kenyan. Ruto  expressed his gratitude at Kenyans’ acceptance of paying their taxes.

No one will receive a tax exemption, the President emphasized, adding that all Kenyans must pay taxes regardless of their status.

Raila hopes that youth will force the government to listen to their grievances and fight for their rights.
