Sirisia MP John Waluke To Serve 67 Years In Prison

Date:

Sirisia MP John Waluke has suffered a big blow after the high court decision to uphold his 67 years of jail sentence. While dismissing the appeal of the lawmaker and Crace Wakhungu, the court has maintained that the two were properly convicted.

In a ruling, Justice Esther Maina has that the prosecution gave enough evidence that the two were guilty. She said that two indeed took part in defrauding government agencies Ksh. 313 million.

After carefully considering the evidence adduced and the submissions made, this court comes to the conclusion that the appeals have no merit,” Esther said.

The justice has said the two have two options; serve their jail terms or pay hefty fines amounting to over 1 billion shillings.

Waluke and Wakhungu will serve a jail term of 67 years and 69 years respectively.

The two have been found guilty of  receiving money fraudulently from National Cereals and Produce Board. They reportedly received the money for maize they did not supply during Mwai Kibaki regime.
