Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has clapped back at his critics who faulted his move to board the Airforce helicopter.
Sudi boarded the aircraft in the company of President William Ruto for the Kenya Kwanza Parliamentary group meeting in Naivasha on Friday.
In a tweet, the MP however said that he is used to government helicopters.
“I am used to these government helicopters,” he said.
Sudi became a subject of discussion when photos of him disembarking from the aircraft surfaced online with questions arising whether he deserved the luxury.
Apparently, the president, his deputy, senior military officials and top government officials such as Interior CS and Defense CS are the only persons authorized to board the aircraft.
Due to that, Sudi was accused of misusing public resources as some wondered whether he had landed a big role in government.
“Is this the new Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Defense ? What a waste of public resources …. Bottom up my foot!” Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina said.
“Whether it’s Raila Odinga or Oscar Sudi, public resources must be used prudently. Military and other disciplined forces and agencies aircrafts and vehicles must be used sparingly and only by authorized personnel. Its a low for KKA. This must be discouraged,” another comment read.
