A chaotic scene was witnessed at Kiamunyi Mixed Secondary School polling station in Rongai as voters lined up to participate in mini-polls on Monday morning.
According to sources, residents kicked out Nakuru East MP David Gikaria, who is serving as UDA agent, thus leading to the commotion. The police were forced to intervene and whisked the MP to safety before he took his leave.

The sitting Rongai MP Raymond Moi has however accused UDA of campaigning even in polling stations as voting is underway insinuating that it could be the possible reason why Gikaria was chased away.
“They are still campaigning because you are not supposed to campaign I believe 48 hours before we vote. So why are they still running around, why are they still talking to voters,” Moi told the press.
He added that the presence of elected leaders including governor and senators at polling stations is intimidating voters.
“I feel the people are being intimidated, you know when they hear the governor is here, senator is here, why should they bring all those people here, they were about 54 of them in Rongai against one individual, it is that aspect of intimidation that I am concerned about,” he said.
He further accused IEBC of not conducting the election in a free and fair manner. Aside from that, he said that he had raised the intimidation issue to IEBC noting that candidates in the MP race were only supposed to have two agents.
“It was made clear to us that there would be no agents but now they are running around and they got IEBC badges so you begin to wonder how they got these badges, they can access polling stations yet they are not agents . We were told that there would be only two policemen in a polling station and every candidate should have two agents and now they have this extra people running around with badges,” Moi lamented.
