Narok Senator and a Key ally of Raila Odinga, Ledama Ole Kina, has opened up on how the chaos that was witnessed at Bomas of Kenya on Monday August 15, when IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati showed up to announce results of the presidential elections, nearly left him a dead man.
According to him, he was brutally assaulted by members of parliament allied to William Ruto, who was announced the winner of presidential elections.
He added that they were baying for his blood but he is lucky to be alive following the intervention of GSU officers.
“I was brutally assaulted by @WilliamsRuto supporters most of them elected members of parliament at Bomas of Kenya shouting kill him kill him. The GSU protected me otherwise I would have been killed. Thank you@NPSOfficial_KEI am grateful to everyone who has called to check on me!” Ledama shared on twitter.

The senator was among Azimio leaders who tried to prevent Chebukati from announcing the results leading to the standoff.
Calm was however restored within moments when anti-riot police swung into action and the presidential results declaration went on without any interference as most of Azimio supporters had already walked out of the venue.
A day later, photos of Ledama in hospital surfaced on social media.
While Ledama is condemning Ruto’s allies, Odinga’s chief agent Saitabao Ole Kanchory hailed Kipchumba Murkomen for saving his life during the fracas.
It’ll be unfair & ungrateful of me not to thank @kipmurkomen for shielding me from the marauding UDA mobs & even some clearly partisan cops baying for my blood @ Bomas today. Thank you Sen. Murkomen. You put your safety in jeopardy for my sake. Political difference is not enmity
