Usawa presidential candidate Mwangi wa Iria on Tuesday experienced a long day at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) offices.
According to Mwangi Wa Iria, he emerged from a lift that was locked down for over 30 minutes at the IEBC offices located at the Anniversary Towers.
While addressing the press, the Murang’a governor accused the IEBC boss Mr. Wafula Chebukati of being behind his woes. He alleged without providing any evidence that Chebukati was under strict instruction not to allow him inside their IEBC offices.
Consequently, the governor vowed to come back stronger like general Miguna Miguna by forming a resistance movement called “Usawa Resistant Movement.”
This comes just a day after he was expelled from the IEBC premises as he vowed to paralyze the electoral process if he is not approved.
The IEBC had knocked Mwangi wa Iria out on the basis of technicalities but the governor insisted that he must be on the ballot come rain come shine or else Kenya will not have an election come 9th August 2022.
This saw his mobilized and angry supporters begin to chant “No Wa Iria no election” as they held peaceful demonstrations in the capital city.
