Comedian Jalang’o’s gardener Morrison Litiema has now quoted the amount of money that Bien/Sauti Sol should pay for the damages that he incurred after Bien used his photo without consent.
This comes just days after he demanded an apology from Bien over the wrong use of his photo.
Bien used Litiema’s photo, a viral meme, earlier this week during the heated Sautisol-Azimio debate to express the status of those who were unsubscribing from Sauti Sol’s YouTube channel after they had complained and demanded for compensation from Azimio la Umoja campaign team for using their Extravaganza song without their consent.
Speaking to Jalang’o himself, Litiema lamented that the photo reminded him of the sorry state he was in a few years back before meeting the Lang’ata parliamentary seat hopeful who changed his life.
The photo was taken on April 15, 2017 after Litiema and his colleagues failed to secure their daily work at a construction site.
“We woke up very early but missed the job because the site was already filled with people when we got there. So we had just gone back,” Litiema recalled.
At the time, they were staying in Kikuyu in a very tiny bedsitter. Litiema was so stressed about missing the job when the photo was taken.
“When he posted on Insta stories he meant those unsubscribing from their YouTube channel they are those living like how the photo showed and for me I have never unfollowed Bien, I have never unsubscribed on their YouTube channel, I have been their subscriber since 2015 and I love Bien because we come from the same region.
“When I see that photo, I remember the suffering that I went through back in the days before God opened ways for us to come here. It was a distress,” Litiema noted.
As a result, Litiema has suffered emotional and psychological damage because of the painful memories and the insults on social media.
Since the photo has gone viral, people think that he is now rich but the truth of the matter is that he is yet to make it in life.
Litiema has now quoted the amount of money that he hopes to receive as compensation from Bien.
“I just want them to call me so that we can have a talk. I demand an apology and it must come with a compensation because it reminds me[of the past] and it is draining me,” the gardener said.
When Jalang’o asked him the amount of money that he wanted Litiema said, “5 million is okay.”
He further asked Jalas to call Bien and just tell him his concerns since he has his contacts.
