Hizi Ni Takataka- Drama As Speaker Muturi Throws Out Fatuma Gedi’s Corruption Evidence On Ruto

Date:

There was drama in parliament on Tuesday as angry speaker Justin Muturi threw out corruption evidence by Wajir Woman rep Fatuma Gedi against deputy president William Ruto.

Fatuma Gedi, during a National Assembly session last month, claimed that William Ruto had dubiously obtained parcels of land in Trans Nzoia, Wajir, Taita Taveta and Nairobi counties.

“It is in the public domain including court orders where one William Ruto grabbed land and I have no apology to make. Give me two days and I will bring the details,” Gedi told Speaker Justin Muturi.

As a result, speaker Justin Muturi ordered Fatuma Gedi to substantiate her allegations by presenting the evidence that would incriminate the deputy president

“Remember you are the one who has undertaken to provide the evidence. Ordinarily we don’t allow people to say that they will provide evidence after two days,” said Muturi

“When you say something here you are expected to have the material but given the gravity of what you have just said I will allow you and therefore Hon. Gedi on Thursday 14th at 2:30 pm we expect you to come with the details.”

On her side, Fatuma Gedi vowed to table the evidence after William Ruto’s allied members of parliament led by Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah demanded that she substantiates her claims.

“Fatuma Gedi is supposed to substantiate and provide evidence that that particular candidate has grabbed land. It is only right that Gedi either substantiates or withdraws and apologizes especially for naming DP Ruto,” Ichung’wa said.

Fast-forward, angry speaker Justine Muturi could not stomach the evidence presented by Fatuma Gedi as he declared them useless by throwing them outside like rubbish.
