One family in Kakamega is in distress after their class 7 daughter was taken to be a third wife for a 36-year-old man.
The family from Elukaka village in Butsotso Kakamega County now wants the government to intervene in arresting a 36-year-old man who has married their 15-year-old daughter.
The child’s mother called Everlyne Mudogo Ikhungu who said her daughter was attending private school while she eloped with their neighbor and started living together from February 2020.
“My child dropped out of school in class 7 and has not returned home, she was briefly at home for two months but when the suspect came from jail, she has now reunited with him, and they are living together,” the girl’s mother told Radio Ramogi.
The suspect who was identified as Nelson Mandela was recently arrested and spent two months in jail and after he posted bail after the two months lockup he eloped with the girl for the second time.
The family wants the government to get involved in ensuring the suspected pedophile is brought to book and their daughter back to school.
Mandela is married to two wives and has sired five children with them.
