Angry Sudi Annoyed By Uhuru For Condemning Stoning Of Raila’s Chopper

Date:

Kapseret member of parliament Oscar Sudi has taken a swipe at President Uhuru Kenyatta following his sentiments on the stoning of Raila Odinga’s chopper.

President Uhuru Kenyatta had on Sunday condemned the incident where ODM leader Raila Odinga’s entourage was pelted with stones in Soy Constituency, Uasin Gishu County on Friday.

The head of state spoke in a rally after he attended a church service at Nairobi’s AIC Pipeline Church.

“Why would anyone pelt Baba’s [ODM leader Raila Odinga] helicopter with stones? What if a stone injured him? Wouldn’t that have caused chaos in the country?” asked president Uhuru.

Thus, the president urged politicians to exercise tolerance and avoid political violence since that would only plunge the country into the events of the 2007/2008 post election violence.

“For us, as political leaders, we should behave in a manner that allows our people to live in peace and go about our business regardless of who seats in which position [come elections]. We’re in Kenya to stay. God has blessed us with this nation, hence, we should protect it, learn to live in peace and we must preserve it,” Uhuru said.

He added that Kenya is for everyone and that no one was invited by anyone to live in this country.

“There is no one who sent an application to live in Kenya. It is God who decided where we would stay,” continued the head of state.

However, these sentiments by president Uhuru Kenyatta did not go well with the Kapseret member of parliament Osac Sudi who accused the head of state of being tribal.

“Ya kustajaabisha sana nimeona rais  akisema ati mzee wetu Raila Odinga angekuwa nje ama angekufa hi nchi ingekuwa inawaka moto. Mimi nataka kuambia rais nimemkataza maramingi wacha kuwa mkabila kuwa rais wa wakenya wacha kuwa rais wa watu wawili ama watatu ama wa kona fulani. (Loosely translated: “The most shocking thing i heard president Uhuru say is that we could be having no country if Raila was killed by those stones. I want to tell the president and I have told him frequently that he represents all Kenyans and not a section of the populace.)

Sudi continued: “Wakati tulilengwa kule Kondele haukusema chochote na nataka nikuambie ni vizuri ujue we ni rais ya wenye walikupigia kura na wenye hawakukupigia kura so long as mtu ako na kipande katika taifa la Kenya wewe ni rais wao. So sis wengine tumejitolea wacha tuhanagishwe we don’t care we don’t bother we have all the time kukuja hapa kuzunguka”( When we were attacked in Kisumu i did not see Uhuru say anything but know that you are the president of all Kenyans. Some of us have volunteered and we don’t care or bother about the things you do.”
