“I died For Four Days” Comedian Akuku Danger Recalls The Horrible Moments In His Hospital Bed

Date:

Comedian Akuku Danger has opened up about his illness that saw him get hospitalized while in a critical condition.

The comedian, who was born with Sickle Cell anemia, got seriously ill towards the end of last year making him suffer a memory loss after losing consciousness for about four days.

When he came around, he could not tell how he got to the hospital or the identities of the people who paid him a visit in hospital although they were familiar to him.

“I was born with sickle cell anemia. On this fateful day that is December around 28th, I began feeling sick, just the normal sickness I decided to go to Nairobi Women’s Hospital. I stayed there for three days  and I was taken to Nairobi West but between Nairobi Women’s and Nairobi West, I can’t remember what happened. In short I blacked out,” Akuku said in an interview with Mpasho.

The comedian revealed that he is still recovering from pneumonia over a month after leaving hospital since the sickness made his lungs collapse.

“I don’t know what happened in December, the whole of January. So when I went to Nairobi West my lungs collapsed so  I am here, they diagnosed me with a little bit of pneumonia. My lungs are still regenerating,” Akuku said.

He only started to remember things at the beginning of February and on February 7, he got discharged from the hospital. He however can not tell what led to the loss of memory.

“I didn’t ask the doctor why I couldn’t remember things but in my mind I was just like maybe it is because I blacked out for 4 days you know I was dead for four days or I was like maybe it is because of the drugs,” he said.

Akuku said that he spent about Kshs 4 million in hospital and currently he still owes Nairobi West Hospital Kshs 1.5million  but with the help of his friends in the entertainment industry especially renowned comedians, they have organized an event that will help in raising the amount.

“Some of my fellow artists have agreed to come and support me. On Saturday we are having an event and all proceeds that are collected from the event are going towards settling this bill. All the artists performing there are purely volunteers, no one is going to be paid,” Akuku revealed.
