Gospel singer Reuben Kigame is determined to become the fifth president and will be vying for the seat under the Federal Party of Kenya ticket.
He launched his bid in August last year and has been conducting media tours and going around the country to popularize his candidature.
In an interview with Citizen TV, Kigame said that the first thing he will do for Kenyans after being sworn in is to sing because that is something that he loves doing.
“I hope as Kenyans you give me a chance to be the first singing president of the Republic of Kenya if not Africa and If not the world. I promise you that the first thing I will do after being sworn in is sing for you because nothing stops me from doing what I love,” Kigame said.
He however said that he would still do the same in case he loses in the election since it is something that he will never stop doing while hoping that he would be able to write songs as a president.
“It will be wonderful to give hope to the many musicians and stand up for them as one of them for the many artists in film , theatre , creativity of all kinds and sports. I want to be somebody that people can relate to as one of their own,” he said.
Aside from that, other things that would not change about him when he becomes president include going to the theatre, enjoying good matches and also playing with children.
He added that he would use his music for the healing of the nation that, according to him, is so broken.
“A lot of people killing themselves because of mental illness, a lot of people have lost hope because of the pandemic, many think that life can’t amount to anything,” Kigame said
