Willy Mutunga Opens Up On His Bad Health, Reveals Why He Can’t Stand For More Than 1 Hour

Date:

Former Kenyan chief justice Dr. Willy Mutunga has for the first time opened up on his health status before the public.

While speaking at the Kabarak University on Monday, Willy Mutunga stated that he has a problem with standing up longer. He had been given  a speech to read before the audience when he confessed.

As a result, Dr. Mutunga said that he would give most of his speech while seated because of his weak back.

Since retirement, Willy Mutunga has never shied away from giving his radical views especially on matters affecting the country.

Just recently, the former chief justice stated that president Uhuru Kenyatta risked being taken to jail by the future governments because of the injustices committed by his regime.

As a result, Mutunga pleaded with citizens not to give president Uhuru Kenyatta another chance to roll back the democratic gains realized through the 201 constitution.

Mutunga also pleaded with Kenyans to send Uhuru and the entire Kanu surrogates home following the signing of a coalition agreement between Kanu and Jubilee.

Taking to Twitter, the former CJ said under Uhuru Kenyatta, Kenyans have had enough pain, tears, deaths, poverty, oppression and sweat adding that they must not give them any more years to dictatorship and bad governance.

In the meantime, after three years in exile, Miguna was looking forward to returning to Kenya after the Former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga and Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi promised to accompany him on his flight back home.

However, High Court on Friday November 11th declined to lift the red alerts issued by the Kenyan government preventing Miguna Miguna from travelling to the country.

Judge Hedwig Ong’undi said there was no evidence showing that Miguna had been stopped from returning to the country. He noted that the burden of proof was on Miguna to show that the red alerts exist

“There is no evidence to prove the alerts exist. This court cannot rule on speculation to grant the orders he is seeking. Case dismissed. Court being a Court of law expected him to adduce evidence to prove existence of the red alerts,” Justice Hedwig said.

Fast-forward, Miguna castigated Mr. Mutunga for giving him an empty promise since the former chief justice never went for him in Canada as promised. Thus, the exiled lawyer Miguna explained that it was necessary to demand that people keep the promises that they make.

“I’m still waiting for CJ Emeritus Willy Mutunga’s arrival with his esteemed delegation that was scheduled to land at the Toronto Pearson on November 12, 2021. We must keep demanding that each one of us remain faithful to promises we give – from Uhuri to the villager,” he stated.
