Billionaire Jimi Wanjigi was clearly absent from the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) meeting that was held at the Steven Kalonzo Musyoka center on Wednesday.
In attendance were the Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, KANU Chairman Gideon Moi, Narc Kenya party leader Martha karua, Cyrus Jirongo and other notable leaders from the mentioned parties.
In the past few weeks, Jimi Wanjigi had been moving around the country with the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals after the exit of the Amani National Congress(ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya party leader Moses wetangula.
As a result, Kenyans believed that Jimi Wanjigi had fully taken charge of Kalonzo Musyoka by financing him. In fact, it is one of the reasons why Kalonzo Musyoka had the audacity to maintain a hardline stand that he would go all the way to the ballot box.
Having gone separate ways with Raila Odinga and the government of president Uhuru Kenyatta, our sources revealed that Wanjigi had promised to do anything that would make Kalonzo Musyoka reach the ballot just to make sure that the Azimio team does not win.
However, it seems the deal is quickly coming to its deathbed after the billionaire businessman Jimi wanjigi failed to attend the Wednesday volcano meeting convened by the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals.
It has emerged that Wanjigi was against that meeting since he was convinced that Kalonzo Musyoka and Gideon Moi would throw their weight behind Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja.
His attempts to block that meeting hit a dead end, hence deciding to register his displeasure by giving it a wide berth.
ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi had invited OKA principals to the Bomas where he was supposed to be declared the Amani national Congress (ANC) presidential flag bearer, but the other OKA leaders would later walk out in protest while throwing their hands in the air.
According to them, they walked out of the conference because ANC had invited people who were not their friends (William Ruto and his entire UDA fraternity).
However, that was not enough reason for Wanjigi to leave the event. Kenyans on Twitter said that his move was scripted.
According to the Queen of the North, Hezena Lemaletien, Wanjigi only walked out to prove that he is an enemy of DP Ruto which is not the case.
“I think Wanjigi is being financed by DP Ruto, his moving out of bomas today is an intelligent move to make us believe he is Ruto’s enemy,” Hezena shared on Twitter.
Blogger Robert Alai also claimed that Ruto and Wanjigi are an ‘item’ and the businessman is only close to Kalonzo to know what they are planning.
“Jimmy Wanjigi is Ruto’s ear near Kalonzo. His main task is to provide nuisance value in ODM and also lie very close to Raila’s most interesting ally to hear what they plan. His main financier is Ruto through Kabogo who now pays all his bills. #MaDVDJoinLooters,“Alai wrote.
Others questioned the significance of Wanjigi’s move and wondered where he was headed to since ODM leader Raila Odinga had betrayed him.
“Gideon walking out to where? His Baringo seat is already gone. Kalonzo will come back, For Wanjigi, I don’t really understand, going back to Judas or what?” Ellyvine Wanjala posed.
