Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru has prepared Kenyans for the next ‘earthquake’ that is bound to take place.
Through her social media pages, Waiguru claimed that the next earthquake will be by women taking up leadership positions in UDA.
“The next earthquake is by women of Kenya continuing to take up leadership positions in UDA with the strong support of H.E William Samoei Ruto,” the first time governor said.
“Women are capable, qualified and eager to serve Kenyans in all capacities including the Executive offices. Let’s listen to them with open minds and Vote a woman in,” she added.
In an interview with Spice FM on Tuesday morning, Waiguru hoped that DP Ruto will choose a woman to be his running mate.
“I hope and pray that Deputy President when he chooses a running mate he will choose a woman. However in the discussion of who should be the running mate I don’t think that is a conversation that is done in a committee am not party to that conversation what I know is that the decision who will be the running mate will the decision of one William Samoei Ruto and everybody respects that,” she stated.
Waiguru however said that it would be a great honor for DP Ruto to settle on her as his running mate.
“It will be a great honor to be picked as the running mate for the UDA party but right now all my efforts are on Kirinyaga county,” she noted.
Asked why the running mate should come from the Mt. Kenya region, Waiguru said, “Mt. Kenya because of numbers mostly. We all know the numbers that come from there and even look at the support that he is getting. You know politics is a game of numbers and you have to check where you need which numbers.”
