“Fake News” MP Wilson Sossion Slams The Standard For Writing A False Story About Him

Date:

Nominated Member of Parliament Wilson Sossion has  responded to reports that he was betrayed by ODM leader Raila Odinga.

According to a  report by The Standard news paper, Sossion claimed that he lost his position as the KNUT Secretary General because Raila failed to protect him by allowing the government to meddle with KNUT.

“Raila Odinga betrayed me by allowing the government he had joined to interfere with teachers’ union,” Sossion allegedly said during the burial of Kebeneti Secondary School principal Joel Mutai in Belgut, Kericho County on Thursday.

He further said that he ditched ODM and joined DP William Ruto’s UDA because of the betrayal.

“That is why I joined UDA and I am now supporting Deputy President William Ruto for the presidency,” Sossion said.

Sossion has however slammed the Standard newspaper for writing a fake story about him saying that he has never mentioned the former prime minister and will never do so in his campaigns.

“Let it be known that I have never mentioned @RailaOdinga anywhere in my campaigns and I do not intend to. My mission is simple, to represent the interests of Bomet County and it’s people that I cherish. As for @StandardKenya, kindly let’s be objective. This is FAKE NEWS!” Sossion said on twitter.

Sossion resigned as the KNUT secretary general in June last and said that he was fully going to focus on his legislative duties.

This came after a series of battles with the Teachers Service Commission and he was deregistered as a teacher after landing the elective position.

He joined UDA in September last year and will be running for Bomet County senatorial seat in the August polls.
