Date:

Moses Wetangula’s FORD Kenya party has been dealt a big blow after two of its members decamped to Democratic Alliance Party – Kenya (DAP-K).

On Thursday, January 13, Kisumu West MP Olago Aluoch and politician Lwande Oneko switched camp to the Wafula Wamunyinyi led faction.

Yesterday, Wamunyinyi who is the MP of Kanduyi said former Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya will be joining his party after he announced his bid to run for the Trans Nzoia gubernatorial seat.

“George Natembea has announced he is joining DAP-K. We welcome him and we are ready to help him fulfill his ambition to be the next governor for Trans Nzoia,” Wamunyinyi told members.

Lwande Oneko, the son of veteran politician and freedom fighter Achieng Oneko was a FORD Kenya insider while another defector, Trans Nzoia Senator Michael Mbito is the chair of the Senate Health Committee.

“In Trans Nzoia, there is no other party now other than DAP,” Mbito said.

Other notable leaders who were present when the defectors were received by DAP – Kenya party leaders include Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos, former Minister Noah Wekesa and Defense Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa who was introduced as a great friend of the party.
