Cyrus Oguna Is Yet To Recover His Sense Of Smell Over A Year After Contracting Covid-19

Date:

The government spokesperson Cyrus Oguna has revealed that he is yet to regain his sense of smell over a year after contracting Covid-19.

Oguna, who was infected with the virus in  July last year, was speaking in Mau Summit, Nakuru county, during a sensitization exercise on road safety whereby he urged Kenyans to get vaccinated.

The Retired Colonel said that  since then he is unable to differentiate certain smells but he is grateful that he can walk and talk.

“Up to now I cannot differentiate between diesel and petrol unless I look at it, by God’s grace at least I can walk and talk which is not the case for most people, please get vaccinated,” he said.

Oguna insisted that no Kenyan will be served in a government office without proof of Covid vaccination.

Tuesday, December 21,2021 was the ultimatum that the Ministry of Health had given to Kenyans to get the vaccines so that they could be served in government offices.

Oguna asked those who intend to seek the services and have not gotten the vaccines to make phone calls to the offices since the government is keen on ensuring that all Kenyans are kept safe.

“The person who is giving you services in a government office has their own life, so if you are vaccinated you protect your life and the life of that person you will find there,” Oguna stated.

The court however suspended the directive from the Ministry of Health, pending hearing and determination of a petition that had been filed.
