Why OKA Principal Gideon Moi Is The Saddest Man Today

Date:

Baringo senator Gideon Moi is a sad man after losing his mother in law Mama Afia Juma in the wee hours of Thursday morning.

According to a statement from the family, Mama Afia Juma succumbed to a short illness when she was in the hospital.

While mourning the mother in law, Gideon Moi remembered her as not only a strict woman but also a humble one.

“I am saddened by the passing on of Mama Afia Juma – mother to my wife Zara Moi. She was a humble, introspective yet strict mother-in-law. May Allah rest her soul in peace.” He tweeted.

On his side, KANU secretary general Nick Salat mourned mama Juma and termed the death as very devastating to the family members.

“The passing away early today of Mama Afia Juma, the mother to Zahra Moi who is the wife of our National Chairman Gideon Moi, is indeed devastating. As a party, we convey our heartfelt condolences and assure them that they are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May Allah grant Zahra Moi and the entire family the fortitude to bear the loss,” he said.

In the meantime, Baringo senator Gideon Moi on 30th August this year lost one of his allies Musa Sirma who dumped him for deputy president William Ruto.

Musa Sirma was the former Minister for East Africa Community having served previously as a member of parliament for Eldama Ravine Constituency.

The former legislator was received by DP William Ruto to his new political party UDA (United Democratic Alliance) at the Karen residence.

The move by Gideon Moi’s confidant to join DP Ruto was seen as a step aimed at uniting the Kalenjin region so that they speak in one voice ahead of the 2022 general elections.

Gideon Moi together with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula have been spearheading the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) ahead of the 2022 general elections.
