Small-scale vegetable vendors and boda boda riders in Bungoma expressed their disappointment with deputy president William Ruto for shortchanging them after his visit.
The deputy president toured Bungoma county at least thrice in recent past, with the latest visit being on November 4th and 5th.
Ruto dished out money to residents when he took his campaign trail to parts of Busia and Bungoma counties during his tour of Western region.

The deputy president gave small-scale vegetable vendors and boda boda riders in Kanduyi, Bungoma county Ksh2 million during his stop there.
Mama mbogas and boda boda riders in Bungoma are now crying foul after being shortchanged of money given to them by Ruto.
Section of residents are demanding their share of Ksh2 million from Ruto which he promised during a rally in the area.
The small-scale vegetable vendors and boda boda riders expressed their disappointment with the DP for failing to fulfill the promise.
Speaking to the press on Monday, November 15, the traders lamented that Ruto promised to give them the money, but up to date, they do not know if he gave it out, or who was given the handout.
The Chairperson of Boda Boda riders in Bungoma County lamented that Ruto’s empty promise has landed him in trouble as his fellow riders presume he squandered the money.
He regretted mobilizing fellow riders to give Ruto a heroic welcome to the region only for the DP to shortchange them.
On the other hand, the vegetable vendors better known as Mama Mbogas regretted closing their businesses to cheer Ruto, knowing that they will be paid.
Handouts given by Ruto continue to cause havoc across the country as people fight over the money the DP dishes out.
