The absence of Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula in a rally attended by Gideon Moi and Kalonzo Musyoka has drawn mixed reactions.
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and KANU chairman Gideon Moi had attended a church service at Kiserian then later decided to greet the locals.
The absence of the two Mulembe Nation leaders has led to speculations that all is not well between the One Kenya Alliance leaders who have failed to agree on whether they would back Raila or not. They have also not agreed on who amongst them would fly the presidential ticket.
There have been rumors that Musalia is warming up to join deputy president William Ruto through his ally Cleophas Malala.
Just recently, the Kakamega senator threatened to shift camp if the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals endorses Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.
Senator Malala spoke in Kakamega two weeks ago in Kakamega county where the four OKA principals went to have a meeting in a bid to discuss the way forward in their coalition camp.
The vibrant senator even threatened on Saturday that Musalia Midavadi’s ANC would quit the One Kenya Alliance and join other coalitions if Musalia is not named the presidential candidate by Christmas day.
“Tunataka tukuwe na iyo declaration. Senator amesema vizuri sana kwamba our presidential candidate atatoka kwa One Kenya Alliance. Iyo ndio declaration ya Kakamega! Sasa principals kwa bahati mbaya mkiteleza muende huko ata sisi tutawawacha kwa mataa. (We want to make a declaration here in Kakamega that our presidential candidate will come from the One Kenya Alliance. In case you guys make a mistake of backing Raila then we will also go our ways.
“Sisi tunaamini Kalonzo Musyoka tunaamini Moses Masika Wetangula, tunaamini Cyrus Jirongo, tunaamini Man Gidi na tunaamini Musalia Mudavadi (We have faith in Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Masika Wetangula, Cyrus Jirongo, Gideon Moi and Musalia Mudavadi.)
After Musalia and Wetangula skipped the Kiserian function by Gideon and Kalonzo, Kenyans had the following to say:
“OKA Principals Gideon Moi and Kalonzo Musyoka acknowledging greetings from residents of Kiserian after church service. My Friends from Mulembe nation seems nowhere to be seen! Have they bolted out of the Coalition?”
“The rudderless and clueless leadership is evident in both mdvd and weta.either they join raila to salvage their political career or join ruto confirm that they ruto agents to frustrate raila bid na Kama ni ngumu aende peke yake. Hakuna kubembelezana Tena.”
“The idea behind the formation of OKA alliance was to bring all the political jokers/rejects together then allow them to perish once and for all.??”
“If Kalonzo and mudavadi are not going to join Raila before 9th December then there will be no other option for Raila other than to surrender.”
“Mudavadi is warming up to join the hustler nation team soon…keep this for reference.”
“This coalition is the same as the NASA coalition. Someone is trying to use the rest. But people are wise.”
“These are supporters of Raila. Mudavadi and Wetangula chose to support Ruto.”
