UON Professor Owiti Quits Gem Parliamentary Race, Cites Begging And Being Insulted By Class 2 Dropouts

Date:

University of Nairobi Senior Professor Owiti K’akumu has reportedly quit the Gem parliamentary race citing a number of valid reasons.

According to a local within Gem constituency, Professor Owiti was so much pissed off with a number of things such as every Dick and Harry calling him all kinds of names.

Specifically, the academician said that in Gem constituency politics, even a class two dropout with zero knowledge want to engage in verbal exchange with a well accomplished professor like him.

Besides, the relentless satanic begging of money (gonya in luo) from the Gem locals had pissed him off.

“University of Nairobi Senior Professor Owiti K’akumu has quit the Gem MP race saying that in Gem politics even a class 2 dropout want to argue with a Professor, citing disrespect and begging from Gem Constituents.”

While others congratulated professor Owiti Kakumu, there are those who castigated the lecturer over the act. Below is how Kenyans reacted:

“Professor found the race too tough for him and offering Avery awkward baseless reason to that only undermines his most experienced profession, let me also take this golden opportunity to remind him that even a class less has a the authority to argue once he or she finds it necessary and that Education doesn’t matter allot when it comes to matters of development and in their homes any development and what they eat, there’s no professor’s contributions and by under looking the un Educated claiming that he can’t argue with them calling them class twos had already spoiled his chances not only 2022 but all his trails until he apologized, because these very people he can’t argue with are the would be voters and are the majority not the learned ones, therefore he should be cautious otherwise he might spoil allot of goods.”

“Let him go. With leadership we dont want papers we want.”

“K’Akumu ne Akuba owitone chogo moro matin ogwenoe ondhundho. Okodwar yuaregi Akuba.”

“Politics need tactics but not profetion,,, thanks for quiting but be part of the group that is pushing for change.”

“Ma kir liekre ie siaza.Odhi ocham nyanje ie University Kuro.Leadership is service to the People first before you think of what is in your head.”

“God will not allow such kind of ego and pride lead his people. leadership needs both wisdom and knowledge, our brother lacks wisdom.”

“Being a professor does not change your character from child hood, so it’s means you are not the person Gemians are looking for and remember in Gem we had the likes of Argwings kodhek and many others who were well read than you and they never talked bad about Gem people.”

“Respect from either of the parties, Not all sch dropouts denied classes, some lacked school fees and may b basic needs. Remember they also have votes so RESPECT KIDOGO WANGWANA.”

“Omera this Gonya Gonya culture is a worrying issue. I don’t if it only exist here in Luo Nyanza or also in other Regions.”

“He should ask for votes from professors, constituencies class 4 drop out are many na ndio wako na votes.”

“But that’s a fact??? at the moment every tom dick and harry wants to join power but they can’t even explain the law making process.”

“The people of Gem should respect the good professor.”
