Deputy president William Samoei Ruto is a man under pressure from sex workers around the country to give them decent jobs if he takes over the leadership of the country.
According to The Don, Mtito Andei sex workers have appealed to the deputy presdient William Samoei Ruto to speed up the Hustlers empowerment fund, which would enable them switch careers and pursue more respectful ventures.
Through their leaders, the commercial sex workers confessed that it was high time they be considered since the past regimes have never taken their concerns into consideration.
“Sisi kama wauza ngono tunataka naibu wa rais atushugulikie ili tupate kazi zingine. Asishugulikie tu mama mboga na watu wa pikipiki kwa sababu sis pia tutampigia kura (We commercial sex workers want the deputy president to also take care of our needs as opposed to just focusing on mama mbogas and bodaboda guys since we will also vote for him).
The second in command is on a small-scale traders empowerment mission at Mtito Andei, Kibwezi East in Makueni county where he is continuing with his bottom up economic approach.
In the meantime, William Ruto recently took a swipe at the opposition leader and the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals for bothering president Uhuru Kenyatta to plan for them and endorse one of them.
“So mimi naambia hi watu nashindana na hao, wanapoteza muda mwingi kwa sababu kwanza wamekosa kujipanga sai wanahangaika, wanakaribia Uhuru hapo, tafadhali si utupange, wanaingia statehouse Mombasa wanatoka, wanaingia state house Nakuru wanatoka, wanaingia sijui hoteli gani.
“Sasa wanazungukanazungukana. Hi watu wakiendelea vile wanaendelea, hi watu! Watedna tena Uhuru park kuenda kuswear themselves in pale 2022 wakati tumepanag serikali. Wakiendelea vile wanaoendelea, kwa sababu sasa hawana candidate sai, hawajui ni huyu ama ni huyu, hawana mipango hawana sera, hawana chama kama hi ya UDA, kila mtu anabebana nachama yake. Hawana mpango sai ati wanagoja Uhuru. Hawajui Uhuru ako na kazi ya 45 million Kenyans ya kuendesha hawa watu sita wangojea hapo.
“Mimi nauliza nyinyi, ata mkipima, si hii watu sita ni mboga ya asubuhi wakiendelea vile wanaendelea ama namna gani watu wa Navakholo. Watakuja hapa wapate ma hustlers wamejipanga.” Ruto.
