Deputy president William Ruto’s staunch ally Soy Member Of Parliament Caleb Kositany has raised concerns about the vehicle Raila Odinga is using for his campaign.
Kositany is concerned that the ODM leader is using state resources in his campaigns while he is not in government himself.
The Soy MP lamented that Raila is using official government vehicle in his campaign trail, he pointed out the registration number of a SUV that the former Prime Minister was using which had government number plate.

Kositany’s tweeted attracted condemnation from tweeps who informed him that Raila is still accorded state protection for serving as Kenya’s second Prime Minister.
Raila, former president Mwai Kibaki, former vice presidents Moody Awori, Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi enjoy luxurious packages from the state as retirement benefits for the roles they served.Raila, who served as PM from 2008-2013, is provided with three drivers, one personal assistant, one accountant, two secretaries, two housekeepers, two senior support staff, two gardeners, two cooks and two cleaners.
The former premier is also entitled to at least six armed security guards of choice, diplomatic passports for himself and his spouse, a furnished office, maintenance of his vehicles and access to VIP lounges in all Kenyan airports.
Raila’s retirement perks is provided for under the Parliamentary Pensions Act, Chapter 196 of the Laws of Kenya.
Under the Parliamentary Pensions Act, Raila was paid a lump sum of Ksh.11,184,000 upon his retirement as Prime Minister, and draws a monthly allowance of Ksh.209,700.
Kositany’s complaint about Raila’s come just hours after Raila received a number of state of the art campaign Land Cruisers that he will use in his 2022 campaign.
These vehicles were donated by Mike Rabar who said that the gifts were just a token of appreciation to Raila because of what he has done in the past for the Republic of Kenya.
