A family in Bungoma County is trying to come into terms with the disappearance of their new born immediately after being delivered.
Ruth Nakhumicha and her husband Robert had their third born delivered through Cesarean Section at the Kimilili Sub County Hospital.
According to Robert, they arrived at the hospital early in the morning after his wife went into labor.
At around 11 am, the doctors that were attending to his wife advised that she should undergo an operation since she could not deliver normally.
Three hours later, Robert was informed that everything had gone on well and he would hold his bundle of joy in few minutes time.
However, he was later informed that his new born baby had disappeared without a trace.
“We came here in the morning and she was taken to the theatre room at around 11 am. I waited outside as the doctors attend to her for about three hours. The doctors continued to urge me to be patient because I was getting worried. Later on, one of them told me that baby had disappeared,” Robert stated.
The distraught mother who could not hide her tears said that she never imagined that things would turn out like that.
“I’m here with other new mothers, they are all breastfeeding their babies yet I do not know what my son is going through. I never imagined this turn of events. My firstborn is a girl so I prayed to God to bless me with a son. The doctors told me the baby was a boy, but I did not see him,” she stated
Robert has since reported the matter to the police station with hopes that their infant will be found safe and sound.
“When we went to the police station, the doctor who conducted the operation said that he gave the baby to the cleaners,” Robert said.
