All Schools To Reopen On January 4, CS Magoha Announces

Education minister George Magoha on Monday announced that all schools will reopen on January 4, as the country continues to take cautious steps in its returns to normally amind the spike of Covid-19.

Speaking at a press conference in Nairobi, Prof Magoha said the term, considered the second one in the academic calendar since schools were closed after 2019’s first term, will come to an end on March 19.

The Cabinet Secretary also said four-year-old children will joining pre-primary one in July.

Teacher Services Commission has at the same time urged teachers aged 58 and above together with those with pre-existing health conditions to work from home.

“As this is a presidential directive, your employers will not sack you. The TSC has negotiated for teachers to be covered for Covid-19-related illnesses,” Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia told the press conference as reported by Nation Africa.
