Sean Connery died on October 31st at the age of 90 surrounded by his loved ones including his second wife of 45 years Micheline Roquebrune.
The actor’s widow opened up about his deteriorating health in a candid interview with Mail Online.
Micheline told the Mail Online that the legendary actor had dementia and that it took its toll on him during his last days on earth.
Connery’s widow said the actor’s health had deteriorated so bad that he could no longer express himself.
“It was no life for him. He was not able to express himself latterly. At least he died in his sleep and it was just so peaceful. I was with him all the time and he just slipped away. It was what he wanted. He had dementia and it took its toll on him,” said Micheline Roquebrune.

The widow further revealed that her late husband had always desired to die peacefully without a fuss.
“He got his final wish to slip away without any fuss,” said Sean Connery’s widow.
Adding that;
“He was gorgeous and we had a wonderful life together. He was a model of a man. It is going to be very hard without him, I know that. But it could not last forever and he went peacefully.”
Sean Connery married Micheline in 1975 after dating for five years. The couple did not have any children together but the James Bond actor had a son, Jason, from his marriage to first wife Diane Cilento. Micheline also has three children from previous marriages.
