Embattled Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa declined t take a bath while at police cells at Port Police Station.
Aisha Jumwa was locked in the police station for a week together with her bodyguard Geoffrey Otieno Okuto.
Aisha and her bodyguard were charged with the murder of Ngumbao Jola in 2019 in the run-up to the Ganda ward representative by-elections.
Aisha Jumwa is said to have declined to take a bath with salty water and demanded she be supplied with fresh water.
The MP is said to have only agreed to take a bath with salty water after the court-ordered she undergoes a psychiatric evaluation at the Coast General Hospital.
The Port Police Station has often being used to keep high-profile individuals.
Sources at the police station say Aisha was provided with a two-inch mattress, a pillow, and mosquito net in her own cell.
Those who met the MP described her as “subdued and cooperative with prison authorities”.
Okuto, her co-accused is also said to have enjoyed similar amenities in his own cell.
Jumwa, an ally to DO William Ruto was visited by more than 10 legislators led by Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika.
Others who visited included Emurua Dikkir MP Johana Ng’eno, Garissa Woman Representative, Lunga Lunga MP Khatibu Mwashetani, and Kimilili MP, Chris Wamalwa Andrew Mwadime, Mwatate MP, and a nominated Jubilee senator David Sankok.

Jumwa walked out of the police cells after paying a cash bail of Sh5.5 million for herself and Okuto.
The vocal MP linked her troubles and prosecution to her political stand and support for Deputy President William Ruto.
“It is feared that the first applicant Geoffrey Otieno Okuto (co-accused) and I are only being prosecuted and persecuted in an attempt to settle political scores because of our well-known political stand and our proclaimed or preferred presidential candidate come the year 2022,” Jumwa claimed in her sworn affidavit.
