President Uhuru Kenyatta is no longer comfortable with the moniker Kamwana ( Kikuyu for young energetic youth) as he is approaching old age.
While addressing boda boda riders in Pumwani, Nairobi, the president send his crowd to delirium when he disclosed that he is approaching 60 years old and took issue with those who continue referring to him as Kamwana.
“If one of you wants to build a house or wants to start a business for the wife, then he can do so as this group has shown that it can raise enough money.
“If the husband wants to retire after 10 years from riding, then he can have a place to go. After 10 years of service, you are no longer energetic. I am approaching 60 years and people still refer to me as Kamwana. Kamwana inafaa kuisha bana (We need to retire that name,” Kenyatta stated as he broke into laughter alongside the riders.
The Head of State just like other politicians has earned several nicknames from supporters.
He has been called with such names as Uhunye, Jayden Prezzo wa Masharti etc.
While emphasizing why he is no longer a Kamwana, Uhuru said that he was no longer able to traverse the country like he used to before and was approaching retirement.
Kenyatta added that every worker should appreciate growing old and plan for the latter stages while enjoying their youthful life.
“Who else can raise Ksh 2billion every month from their sweat like you guys.
