Deputy President William Ruto: my boss has never complained about me

Date:

Deputy President, William Samoei Ruto has finally addressed what has been on a lot of people’s minds, why he decided not to attend the National COVID-19 conference on Monday.

William Ruto said those poking holes into his work were busybodies speaking at his Karen home earlier on today.

The DP said there’s no day that he hasn’t fulfilled any task that he has been given by the President.

Deputy President William Ruto said that all his work and responsibilities given to him by the President of the Republic of Kenyan have been discharged distinctly by himself.

“No work has been given to me and I failed to execute,” he said.

Ruto urged the “busybodies” who are keen on calling him out for “failing” to deliver to Kenyans to concentrate on making sure the common mwananchi is taken care of.

“Who are they to complain about my work? Who made them my supervisors?” Ruto quipped.

The besieged second-in-command said he knows his work, “and my boss has not complained about my performance”.

Ruto’s director of communication Emmanuel Talam went on to deny claims that his boss was invited to the event during which Kenya’s six-months fight with Coronavirus was discussed.

“I’ve no idea [why the programme showed he was scheduled to speak]. He’s rarely invited to Covid-19-related events. That’s on record. I don’t know about yesterday’s. But it would be interesting for anyone to suddenly realize that the DP is a stakeholder on matters of national importance,” Talam said.

This comes as a contradiction from the State House Spokesperson, Kanze Dena who reiterated that the Deputy President was actually invited to the summit and RSVPd.

“State function programmes are done once someone has been invited and confirmed attendance. I don’t do the invites, but the information we have is that he was invited,” Kanze told the Nation.
