More than 130 US Secret Service agents protecting President Donald Trump have gone into quarantine as Covid-19 strikes the agency.
The US has been hit hard by a second wave of Covid-19 infections, and White House has not been spared either.
Donald Trump’s administration has been plagued by coronavirus, the incumbent US president has openly disregarded Covid-19 measures like wearing a mask and social distancing.
Trump himself contracted the virus in early October, his youngest son Barron also tested positive for coronavirus.

Early this month, six people in White House, including Trump’s Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson were reported to have contracted Covid-19.
Members of Trump’s security detail – The Secret Service is also struggling with a sting of Covid-19 infections.
The Washington Post has reported that more than 130 US Secret Service agents assigned to protect Trump have gone into quarantine as Covid-19 infections soar.
A US government source familiar with the situation confirmed that numerous Secret Service officers had gone into quarantine but did not provide a specific number. Not all those in quarantine had tested positive for COVID-19, the source told the Post.
The source revealed that about 10 percent of Trump’s core security team had been sidelined because of Coronavirus.
Trump still continues to downplay the severity of Coronavirus despite the rising number of hospitalization and deaths in US.
The incumbent has refused to institute lockdown even as US leads the world in the number of Covid-19 infections and deaths.
Trump has also refused to encourage his supporters to follow Covid-19 guidelines, MAGA (Make America Great Again) supporters never put on masks or observe social distancing when going out to the streets to show their support for Trump, like recently when they were protesting against vote fraud.
