Wanjigi urges Kikuyus to join ODM ahead of 2022 elections

Date:

The successful, billionaire, Jimi Wanjigi is back in the political scene and this around, he’s still blowing Raila Odinga’ horn.

The pro-Raila businessman opened up a day after a Mount Kenya delegation visited the former Prime Minister at his Bondo home.

Wanjigi has asked the Agikuyu community to join Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) if they want him to ascend to power in 2022.

Speaking during a church fundraiser at Bondo Anglican Church, Wanjigi said he feels at home at ODM.

“I am a life member of ODM in this political journey and I am calling upon all my brothers from the mountain to join us in this noble cause,” he said.

According to the businessman, Wanjigi, the Saturday meeting was a sign of plethora of great things to come in the future.

“These are great times for the country because the Luo and Agikuyu communities have come together.

Every journey starts somewhere and the history of this nation has a foundation in Mount Kenya and Ramogi Hills,” Wanjigi who has accompanied Raila Odinga to the church said, “It is these two communities that suffered at the hands of colonialist.”

In a rather touching, nostalgic detailed speech, Wanjigi narrated events before and after independence.

Laughing off the political narrative of the Hustler versus Dynasties, Mr. Wanjigi said that even though he went to school with the Kenyattas at St. Mary’s school, he opted to venture into business and politics aggressively.

“Going to St. Mary’s School does not make me a dynasty. I was the chairman of the Jubilee campaign team and our slogan,” We don’t want analog, we want digital,” was targeted at Raila Odinga,” he said.

Wanjigi believes there’s no clear script the Deputy President, William Ruto and his Tanga Tanga team is reading from, Wanjigi believes the allies surrounding the Deputy President are only interested in selfish pursuits.
